Our Story
Co-founders Christine Deska and Frank Orzo first crossed paths in 2014 at a foundation in Manhattan. Christine was the Director of Programs and Frank was one of the scholarship program volunteers. They joined forces to form Nonprofit Sector Strategies, a Public Benefit Corporation, in January 2017.
BellesBoard, its signature product, was launched in early 2018 after interviews with dozens of nonprofit leaders surfaced a gap in the market: the need for an affordable, user-friendly solution to reduce the time spent managing board/governance work and grow board engagement.
BellesBoard is named after Christine’s older daughter, Annabelle, as both were born around the same time!
Christine and Frank spent 2018 working closely with their first five beta customers to ensure the product met both nonprofit leaders’ and board members’ needs.
Based on valuable feedback, the BellesBoard Mobile App (for iPhone and Android operating systems) was launched the following year.
Since then, 1000+ nonprofits and membership clubs have benefitted from BellesBoard or its related board management resources

- Preferred Solution for the Nonprofit Resource Hub (Trade Association)
- Only board portal to integrate with the World’s Top Donor Management Software, Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT
- Forged partnership with the Club Leadership Alliance (CLA) to form the CLA Board Portal, Powered by BellesBoard – a solution tailored to the private club market
